Metamorphosis:
Glass Exhibition of the Academy of Visual Arts, HKBU
Glass art has existed since ancient periods. As time passes, glass
art is not only about sophisticated techniques, but also with
passion and creativity.
Despite glass art has an extensive historical background; it is an
emerging artistic practice in Hong Kong. Being the first tertiary
educational institution that offers wide range of glass art courses,
Academy of Visual Arts
HKBU encourages young artists to explore with the material that is
full of possibilities and potentials.
The first large-scale glass exhibition outside AVA campus is
entitled ˇ§Metamorphosisˇ¨, which implied the transformation of the
states of the material through the artistsˇ¦ enthusiasm during the
process of glass making.
During the exhibition, more than 30 participants, including AVA
Lecturer, Ms. Sunny Wang, glass demonstrator and technician, Mr.
Johnson Yu and more than 30 HKBU students, are going to present
their art works. This exhibition will provide an innovative platform
for the public to experience the magic of contemporary glass art.

Opening: 23rd October 2009 (Friday), with refreshment at 7pm
Exhibition: 23rd October - 11th November 2009
